Why convert PNG to JPG
PNG is lossless, which makes photos and screenshots heavy. JPG uses compression designed for photographic images, so the same picture usually takes far less space and is accepted by every device, app, and upload form.
Transparent images
JPG cannot store transparency. Transparent parts of a PNG, such as the background of a logo, are filled with white instead of black, so the result looks clean on light pages.
Is JPG right for your PNG?
JPG is excellent for photos and less so for graphics. A quick guide:

Common problems and how to fix them
The transparent background turned white
JPG cannot store transparency. Convert PNG to WebP to keep it with a small file.
Text in the screenshot looks fuzzy
JPG softens sharp edges. For screenshots with small text, use PNG to WebP or keep the PNG.
The JPG is still too large
Continue to Compress and lower the quality, or Resize the image if it has more pixels than you need.
