Resize iPhone Photos (HEIC)
Change the size of iPhone photos for posts, stories, banners, and web pages. HEIC files are opened in your browser as JPG, so you can pick a preset or exact pixels and see a preview.
How to resize iPhone Photos (HEIC)
- 01.
Add your HEIC photos.
- 02.
Pick a preset or enter a width and height, then choose fit or crop.
- 03.
Check the preview, process, and download the JPG files.
iPhone photos are big
A typical 12-megapixel iPhone photo is 3024 × 4032 pixels, far more than social networks and web pages use. Resizing to the size you need makes the file much lighter, and Fit without cropping never enlarges a photo.
Presets with a preview
Presets cover Instagram, stories, X, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, and web banners. Crop to exact size trims the edges and keeps the center, and the preview shows what is removed. The result is saved as JPG.
Sizes for iPhone photos
All of these are presets in the tool, except the first row, which is the size of the original:
| Use | Size | Note |
|---|---|---|
| A 12-megapixel iPhone photo, portrait | 3024 × 4032 px | The original size |
| Instagram portrait post | 1080 × 1350 px | 4:5 |
| Stories, Reels, and TikTok | 1080 × 1920 px | 9:16 |
| Link preview (Facebook, WhatsApp) | 1200 × 630 px | Cropped to fit |
| Image inside a web page | 1200 px wide | Smaller loads faster |
Common problems and how to fix them
Part of the photo is cut off
A preset crops to the platform exact shape. Check the darkened area in the preview, or choose Fit without cropping to keep the whole photo.
The result looks soft
The photo was smaller than the target and had to be enlarged; the preview warns you. Start from a larger original when possible.
The file is still heavy
Continue to Compress from the results and choose a quality of 75–85.
🔗 Keep going without uploading again
Resize first, then Compress: smaller dimensions plus a lower quality give the lightest files.
