When to turn a PDF into JPG

JPG is the most widely accepted image format. Converting PDF pages to JPG lets you use them where only images are allowed: social networks, chat apps, online forms that reject PDFs, slides, and websites. It is also the quickest way to share a single page of a long document.

What the result looks like

Each page is rendered at 150 DPI, which keeps text readable on screen and in everyday prints. An A4 page becomes an image of about 1240 × 1754 pixels and a US Letter page about 1275 × 1650. Pages are saved at JPG quality 92, light without visible loss. Text in the image can no longer be selected.

Common problems and how to fix them

  • Only the first page appears

    Every page becomes its own JPG. After processing, the list shows one row per page with its own download button, and “Download batch” saves them all in a ZIP.

  • The JPG looks blurry when I zoom in

    150 DPI is sharp on screen and in normal prints. For tiny print, send the pages to Convert again as PNG, or start from PDF to PNG for lossless edges.

  • The form says the image is too heavy

    Continue to Compress from the results and lower the quality, or Resize the pages to a smaller width. Both keep every page.

Will every page of my PDF be converted?
Yes. Each page becomes a separate JPG named after the original file with its page number (report_page-1, report_page-2, and so on). A PDF can have up to 50 pages.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not directly. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then add the unlocked file. Protected files are detected and rejected with a clear message.
Should I choose JPG or PNG for PDF pages?
JPG gives much smaller files for scans and pages with photos. Choose PDF to PNG when the page has fine text or line art and you want lossless quality.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is processed by your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a FreeConvertYou server. That makes it suitable for IDs, invoices, and other private documents.
Can I convert a PDF to JPG on my phone?
Yes. It works in the browser on Android and iPhone. Choose the PDF from your files, process it, and save each page or the ZIP.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Yes. Scanned pages are rendered like any other page. Each scan becomes one JPG at 150 DPI.
